Download and read ebooks on your mobile device or computer with hoopla. All you need is your Troy Public Library card.

Register for a hoopla account by visiting here, or by using our mobile app on your iOS or Android device. You will need to provide an email address, create a password, and have your library account information ready. Our free mobile app can be found in the App Store and the Google Play store.

Easily browse titles on your computer or mobile device by clicking Browse All on the Ebooks. Search box or magnifying glass and typing in your title(s)/keyword.

There are two great ways to borrow from our hoopla collection: hoopla Flex and hoopla Instant. Hoopla Flex allows you to borrow the latest ebooks. Check out any Flex title that's currently available or place a hold if it's currently checked out. Hoopla Instant allows you to instantly borrow any Instant title. Troy Public Library card holders get 5 Instant borrows and 5 Flex borrows per month.

Libby, by OverDrive

Borrow ebooks to read on your phone using the Libby app by OverDrive. All you need is a Troy Public Library card. Have your smartphone loaded with ebooks and be ready for vacations or long weekends or times at home.

It’s free and easy to get started for new users. Learn more at overdrive.com/apps/libby. You can still browse our OverDrive collection of ebooks on your computer.

As or May 1, 2023 OverDrive will sunset the OverDrive. Users must transition to Libby before or by May 1, 2023. If you currently use the legacy OverDrive app and need assistance, visit help.overdrive.com.
