Where can I find my Shelf Awareness box?
Boxes will be held on carts in the library lobby, directly across from the normal Holds shelves.
How long do I have to pick up my box?
You will have one week—the complete schedule for each month can be found at troypl.org/box.
What happens if I don't pick up my box?
The contents of the box will be re-distributed and the book will go back on the library shelf. If you miss one box, no big deal. After two unclaimed boxes, though, we will cancel your subscription for the rest of the year. Contact Olivia at O.Olson@troymi.gov if you have any questions about this.
How do I check the box out?
You can take it to the Circulation desk, or you can check it out by placing the entire box on the self-check machine at checkout. You don’t need to open the box to check out—you can save the surprise for when you get home.
Do I keep the box?
To keep this a free program, we ask that you return the box when you return your book so that we can reuse them. The surprise goodies inside are yours to keep, though!
Can I choose what kind of book I get next time?
No way! This program is all about trying something new and broadening reading horizons. We hope you like the book we pick for you, but if you don’t, librarians will be happy to help you find something you might enjoy instead.
Do I need to re-subscribe every month?
Nope! Once you subscribed, you’re good for all of 2020.
I need to change/cancel my subscription. How can I do that?
