Register for a hoopla account by visiting here, or by using our mobile app on your iOS or Android device. You will need to provide an email address, create a password, and have your library account information ready. Our free mobile app can be found in the App Store and the Google Play store.
Easily browse titles on your computer or mobile device by clicking Browse All on the Movies or TV category. Search box or magnifying glass and typing in your title(s)/keyword.
Hoopla Instant allows you to instantly borrow any TV or movie title. Troy Public Library card holders get 5 borrows per month.

Have you checked out Kanopy, yet? Kanopy is a video streaming service that's free with your Troy Public Library card.
Start at here and click "Add a Library Card" to create your account using your library card. Follow the steps by entering your first name, last name, email address, and a password of your choosing (Be sure to remember your email address and password – you'll use this to log in in the future!). Then, start watching movies!
As of November 1, 2023, Kanopy uses a ticketing system to watch content. Troy Public Library patrons get 18 tickets per month to watch films, tv shows, and The Great Courses. The viewing period depends on the running time of the film or show selected (minimum of 2 days, maximum of 21 days depending on the content). Tickets reset at the beginning of every month!
You can access Kanopy from any device, including iOS, Android, Apple TV, Roku, and Chromecast.
