All ages can read their way to fun prizes all summer long! This year's SLP theme is 'Adventure Begins at Your Library.' Wondering what it's all about? Check out age-specific details below. Youth Program (Ages 0-13)
Families: Attend the June 14 Summer Program Kick-off Party with a petting zoo, outdoor activities, and more!

The Adventure Begins for children ages 0-13 with programs and a reading challenge this summer! It's never too early to start loving books! Listeners, children ages 0-5, can count each time a book is read to them by a parent or caregiver. Do you reread favorite books? Count each time you read it! Readers in grades 1-6 can track hours read, participate in activity challenges, attend library programs, and write short book reviews. All participants will earn prizes along the way and chances to win one of the Grand Prizes!

Teen Program (Grades 7-12)

Time for a new reading challenge for 2024! How many books can you read this summer? Participate by reading, attending teen programs, volunteering, and collecting prizes. Teen prizes can be picked up at the Adult Reference Desk.

You can also win prizes by logging reading points, completing certain activities, and writing book reviews. Book reviews earn you tickets for up to 15 book reviews. These tickets are used towards prize bundle drawings. These prize bundles include the themes: foodie, fantasy/sci-fi bookworm, music, mystery/thriller bookworm, crafty, and STEAM. There will be a drawing and winners announced at the Teen Summer Reading Finale on August 10, 6-8 pm at the Troy Public Library. 

Adult Program (Ages 18+)

Wherever this summer takes you, earn tickets to win one of three fabulous themed gift baskets by participating in TPL’s Adult Summer Library Program. This year’s theme is “Adventure Begins at Your Library!”
